On Friday, we introduced you to the ethnic + tribal decorating trends. Now you know you love the looks, but do you really know what the styles are called? Or more importantly, do you know how to actually pronounce the design terms? Below are three of the top trends defined, along with rooms furnished entirely with I.O. METRO ITEMS, to give you a modern take on the styles...
KILIM- Pronounced "Kil-leem"
Kilims are flat tapestry-woven carpets or rugs.
IKAT- Pronounced "Ee-kot"
Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles.
CHINOISERIE- Pronounced "Sheen-waz-air-ee"
Chinoiserie is a French term, signifying "Chinese-esque",
and refers to a mixture of Eastern and Western influences.
