Guest blogger: Angela Flournoy takes on Blue

Angela Flournoy, creator of Boutique la Bohème, is one of those bloggers/designers that you can't help but love. Her designs are always trendy, yet unique, and just something you can't help but drool over. The passion she has for interior design makes her an easy choice for any design needs. If you can't tell, we just love her work and are honored that she loved our fall/winter color story enough to tell everyone about it! Check out Angela's inspiration and ideas for a blue room…

What I love about the color blue is it's complexity. It can be either vibrant and bold or soothing and subdued. It can be used as the pop of color in a room or as the neutral that anchors the space. Also a reflection of nature, the color blue brings the calmness of the sky and the energy of the ocean indoors.

Pantone's Fall 2013 Mykonos Blue and Dazzling Blue from the Spring 2014 color trends collection are currently making waves in fashion and interiors. Now more than ever, I'm seeing furniture and home accessories in a multitude of shades from warm blue-grays, to cool greenish-blues like aqua and turquoise.

"I really do love all forms of design and try to work in different mediums whenever possible. I may photograph an interior on Monday, design textiles on Tuesday and then work on my blog the remaining of the week. My day-to-day is never the same and that keeps it fun and forever changing. I started my blog Jan 2012 as way to share my love of great design."
Angela has always been a creative soul, as far back as the ninth grade when she created her first business card for "A.F. Designs". This love for design blossomed when she got to decorate her dorm room in college, her first space to do whatever she wanted, and she never looked back. After college, Angela began working for home design TV shows and architecture firms in New York City. with many different jobs and projects between then and now, she is still doing what she loves, and that is designing.
