Differing textures, patterns and styles can transform a space, taking it from informal to formal or from season to season. A few reminders when buying pillows… choose colors and fabrics that compliment the texture on which the pillow will rest. Solid colored pillows look great on solids and patterns. However, don’t put a busy pillow on a patterned sofa. This will just be too much. Neutral colored sofas are perfect, because any decorative pillow will work! Pillows should tie the room together or add the token pop of color in a neural toned pallet. Make sure you pay attention to the size and scale of the pillow as well. You don’t want a pillow that is so large you cannot sit comfortably on the sofa or one that is so small it looks dwarfed. We usually like pillows in odd numbers, but an even number can look perfect given the right setting. Overall, just pick pillows that make you happy!
