1. Identify where the room is lightest and darkest, both during the day and at night, in order to decide where lamps are needed.
- Pay attention to where the play of shadows on walls and ceilings will have the greatest impact.
2. Determine the size of the lamp you want in this space and write down your desired width and height.
- Make sure your lamps are not too small or the same height as a bed frame or the top of a piece of art.
- We prefer larger lamps, but you don't want the lamp so tall you can see the bulb under the shade.
Once you've purchased the lamp you’ll need bulbs. Whike in the space decide if you want soft and warm or bright and cool light.
- Use incandescent bulbs for softer light, fluorescent bulbs for cooler light and halogen bulbs for a high-intensity bright light.
