Before & After- Den

I.O. METRO's Free Design Service was greatly appreciated in this empty Den.



The before photos show the modern, yet cozy space. The stone fireplace, high vaulted ceilings, dark wooden built-ins, large windows, wooden floors and granite counter tops were the inspiration behind the furniture design.



The client envisioned a warm and inviting den in which the family could relax and entertain. Because the space is more modern than traditional, the wrong furniture would have given it a cold feel. The I.O. METRO Designer did a beautiful job of delivering the transitional look the client desired.



As the focal point of the den, the fireplace inspired the color scheme. Warm neutral tones were used to compliment, not distract from, the stone. An upholstered sectional and thick wool rug softened the space. The stacked circular art, floor to ceiling tree and large lamps showed off the height of the room. Circular accessories were used throughout to create a sense of rhythm.



The contrasting dark leather barstools tied in the color of the built-ins, which continued as cabinets, into the open kitchen. Finally, the art brought in the green of the golf course, which could be seen through the large windows. This Dynamic Den has great balance and flow, making it warm and inviting!
