WILD

"This leggy composition is virtually scent-free, making it perfect for dinner parties. Trim your largest flora shortest (dahlias here), and mingle in long twigs of blueberries. Then put in wispy flowers (like nasturtiums) or even vines, keeping them lengthy enough to spill over the sides."
TAILORED

"A wide-mouth container, which lets stems splay open a bit, loosens up an otherwise staid bicolor scheme. We went with a substantial base of dark-blue porcelain vine and creamy dogwood berries, offset by just a few simple white eucharis. Lilies or tuberose would be equally pretty."
CASUAL

"Bright, cheerful red berries bring orchids down to earth. One stalk of the orchid cut in two (with a few blossoms plucked off) yields several small bouquets when paired with some contrasting viburnum fruit."
FORMAL

"Flowers don't have to do all the work. A few oversize leaves—here, snippets of copper and pewter heuchera—look stately in a small urn and form an elegant foundation for a couple of grape twigs. A single rose adds flourish."(Schlechter)
