LIVING ROOM

In the before photos of this living room (above+below) it's easy to see the pretty palette. But, without good flow the cool colors lose their calming effect. By getting rid of the sectional, and adding a darker sofa, the room becomes grounded. The addition of a pair of swivel chairs opens up the space. The draperies soften the fireplace while also adding height. Changing the art over the fireplace, from two smaller pieces to one large painting, evens the scale. Overall, this furniture arrangement makes the space feel more balanced.

SITTING ROOM

Before the I.O. makeover, it wasn't clear how this room was supposed to be utilized. However, through adding four chairs it's now clear that the space is for conversation. The art adds height and balances the window. The rug helps to define this area from the open room. A little pop was added to the color scheme, however everything still flows beautifully from room to room.
