Today is officially the first day of summer! With summer comes the longing to head off on a much needed vacation. One of my very favorite things about traveling is getting to stay in different hotels. It's always so inspiring to enter a never before visited space and come away with new and exciting decorating ideas. The Viceroy Hotels & Resorts are my most inspiring recent discovery. [DESIGN LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE VICEROY]

Each hotel teaches that one doesn't have to decorate with many different colors to make an impact. Instead, a style statement is made by doing one of two things:

1) Selecting a neutral palette and one pop color that is repeated throughout each room.

2) Going with an all neutral color scheme and using texture and layering as your pop.
