THE GREAT DEBATE: Statement Piece vs. Collected Gallery

We here at I.O. Metro are very lucky to have the design talent we have. One of our Memphis store designers has given us some amazing guest blogs that we are more than happy to share with you. This being the second of her fabulous series of guest blogs.

And with that said, we'll let Carmeon have the floor!

THE GREAT DEBATE:Statement Piece vs. Collected Gallery
Each side poses a valid argument…one that will last until the end of Pinterest. (How laughable is that?!?) And these examples don’t make the decision any easier.

Statement pieces are usually large, oversized works of art that command an incredible amount of attention no matter where you put them. These pieces usually set the tone and cap off the personality of a room.

Instead of showcasing a room’s personality, a gallery wall presents several snapshots of your own personality. Finding that one perfect statement piece for a room can be a long and daunting task. But a gallery wall can evolve overtime and you continue to add the things you love. From family photos to DIY art pieces and favorite quotes, the possibilities are endless.

So what’s your vote? Statement piece or collected gallery? You can’t go wrong with either choice.

P.S. Be sure to check out I.O. Metro’s  extensive art collection here, it may help make up your mind!

Carmeon first worked for I.O. Metro while she was attending the University of Central Arkansas. Once she graduated, she spent five years working in the health care facility design industry. In 2012, she started her company, Nubi InteriorsThen again, in December of 2013, she rejoined the I.O. Metro team (and we are very thankful for that).

Check out her work, you'll be glad you did!
